Spending the day down in the farm is a humbling experience. Ma & Pa only farm their little 6-acre Pinelands farm but it’s a lot of work for two seasoned citizens. I’ve helped more than most years this year but still not enough time spent helping my parents. Today we’re trying to help sell their remaining pumpkins 🎃 so they can wrap up for the season and take a much needed break. Come on over to 698 rte 539 to Charley’s Place in New Egypt NJ. We have a multi family yardsale, babes, and books for sale along with Fall vegetables. All the essentials lol.

Being a small time author you get the privilege of working with people of your choosing. Ed here at @buzbys_eatery is one of our #1 fans. And we’re #1 fans of the food and ambience of the space he and the young couple who own the place have created for the people of the Pines. I sat in the window space awhile back with my laptop and wrote story #30 in my 4th book coming in Feb 2024 titled South Jersey’s Legends & Lore. Today my youngest daughter joined me for breakfast at Buzbys and we can wholeheartedly recommend the Piney Power skillet and my personal favorite the Buzbys Combo with hot Italian sausage. We left a few autographed copies of our books behind. And now I need a nap 💤 lol.

When the sun was out yesterday I sat under a river birch tree and passed the time. Hoping our weekend weather we get to see the sun again.

Jointweed or Polygonella articulata is in bloom and mostly neglected by people. Which is fine for the busy bee 🐝 doing their thing. So vital for the pollinators and so beautiful if one took the time to discover its beauty. May be a more favored wild flower to me then the wild and exotic orchids of the pines. Got it was also harvested by local Pineys for the dried flower industry and locally known as rice crispies. Can you dig that Piney name?

Moms 🎂 birthday is today. Yeah!!! Here she is opening a few scary presents. If you stop at their veggie stand today make sure you wish her a happy birthday.
